Doctoral School Public Policies and Teaching Work

The Doctoral School Public Policies and Teaching Work aims to promote the formation of postgraduate students interested in the study of educational policies and their interfaces with issues related to work and the teaching profession. The School is especially designed for postgraduate students from IE-ULisboa involved in educational policy studies within the UIDEF research line “Forces of change in education”, as well as doctoral students and young doctors involved in the international research “Public policies for the improvement of high school: scientific socialization, translation and transfer of results”.


This research involves a network of cooperation between researchers who have been dedicated to the study of the effects of educational policies on their international circulation and transfer and their effects on the restructuring of the teaching profession, including a team from the Institute of Education of the University of Lisbon and teams from various universities in Latin America (Bahia State University; Federal University of Minas Gerais; Federal University of Pelotas; Joaquim Nabuco Foundation; Federal Rural University of Pernambuco; University of Buenos Aires; Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaiso) and Europe (University of Strasbourg and University of Malaga).


The activities of this initiative for scientific cooperation and academic exchange aim to contribute to: the construction of conceptual frameworks on the circulation of educational policies and the restructuring of the teaching profession; the deepening of theoretical and methodological questions of analysis of educational policies and the changes that occur in the work and teaching profession, namely in the formation and socio-professional trajectories, profiles, modalities of entry, evaluation and career progression.

Public Policies and Teaching Work is the theme of the Doctoral School (PPGEduC)

Salvador, 2018

The Postgraduate Program in Education and Contemporaneity (PPGEduC /UNEB) is conducting, until August 31, 2018, the Doctoral School Public Policies and Teaching Work: Conjunctures, Processes and Resistance, in UNEB Campus I, Salvador. Among the objectives of the Doctoral School is the promotion of the formation of graduate students and teachers in the studies of Educational Policy, through the articulation of different graduate programs in Education, with emphasis on discussions and systematization of research on teaching work.

The academic-scientific research network provided in the context of partnerships between cooperating institutions and research groups will unfold into various activities, including inaugural lectures, conferences, debate tables, training seminar, thesis and dissertation seminar and workshop of cultural background and diversity.
